MixedNotes for iPhone and Mac · Effective October 14, 2026

The short version: MixedNotes does not collect any of your data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We never see your songs or your notes.

Your notes

Notes, listening places and settings are stored on your devices and synced between them through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). They are covered by Apple's privacy policy and are not accessible to us.

Your music

MixedNotes plays audio files from the places you choose: Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, or a folder on your device. Files are read directly from that service or folder onto your device for playback. They are never uploaded anywhere by MixedNotes.

If you connect Dropbox, Dropbox gives the app permission to read your files. That permission is stored in your device's keychain and you can remove it at any time in Settings (Disconnect) or in your Dropbox account settings. iCloud Drive and folders on your device are reached through the iPhone Files app; MixedNotes never receives your passwords.

Google Drive

If you connect Google Drive, you sign in with Google and allow MixedNotes to see and download your Google Drive files (read-only access). MixedNotes uses this access only to:

Downloaded songs are kept in the app's cache on your iPhone, which iOS may clear at any time. The folder you choose is remembered only on that iPhone. MixedNotes never changes, deletes, uploads or shares your Drive files. Google data is never sent to any server (MixedNotes has none), never shared with anyone, never read by people, and never used for advertising. Your Google sign-in is stored in your iPhone's keychain. Tap Disconnect in Settings to sign out, or remove MixedNotes' access at any time in your Google Account settings.

MixedNotes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Microphone and speech

The microphone is used only while you record a voice note. Voice notes are saved with your notes in your iCloud. Speech-to-text transcription runs entirely on your device. On the Mac, the optional AI bullet list uses Apple Intelligence on your Mac.

Motion

The iPhone app reads device tilt to move the light reflections on its buttons. This data stays on the device and is not stored.

Purchases

The optional unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

Updates (Mac download version)

The Mac version downloaded from our website checks GitHub for new versions. This request includes no personal information. The Mac App Store version is updated by Apple.

Children

MixedNotes does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
